Course overview
The PADI open water course is taught in three stages, academic training, confined water training and open water training.
Each stage has five modules. For each module there are specific knowledge objectives and skill performance requirements that need to be learned and completed before moving onto the next module.
Academic training provides the basic principles and knowledge you need for safe and enjoyable diving. These are classroom style sessions.
Confined water training teaches the practical skills of diving in the safety of a pool
Open water training teaches you to use these skills in the ocean
There are four open water dives and a multiple choice written exam. It is your instructors' goal to help you fulfill your desire to become a diver, so there is plenty of opportunity for you to ask questions or do any extra sessions that you need to complete your course. Any module can be repeated and all support possible will be given to enable you to become a safe and competent diver.
Course text and the exam is available in a variety of languages. The most commonly used are English, German and Japanese.
Class sizes are kept small to provide a more personal service.
